The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) froze the bank accounts of Akwa Ibom State government after the Governor sacked some commissioners that welcomed defected Akpabio.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has turned its search light towards the government of Akwa Ibom State, freezing all bank accounts of the state government.
This came hours after the anti-graft agency also froze the accounts of the Benue State government whose governor, Samuel Ortom, recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The EFCC has not issued any statement explaining the reason behind its action.
The Governor of Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel, had earlier sacked two Commissioners, Victor Antai of Culture and Tourism, and Ibanga Akpabio of Labour, Productivity and Manpower Planning after they received the former Governor of the State, Senator Godswill Akpabio who defected to the APC on Wednesday.
