Motorist slapped with a parking fine in council car park - while illegal traveller camp on same site got off scot free

Motorist slapped with a parking fine in council car park - while illegal traveller camp on same site got off scot free

The mobile-home owner was hit with £70 penalty next to convoy of 13 traveller caravans

An unlucky motorist was hit with a fine in a council car park – while an illegal traveller camp on the same site avoided punishment.
The mobile-home owner was slapped with a £70 penalty after apparently overstaying its allocated time at the location.
But at the far corner of the car park a convoy of 13 traveller vehicles - who had pitched up several days earlier - had not received tickets.
The holidaymaker was hit with a parking fine for taking up two bays
Stirling Pickles posted: "Does this seem fair? A warden wouldn't go near travellers, but will ticket a tax paying citizen who's probably overslept in the camper.
"If I was a warden I'd give a hard knock on the door and explain. A ticket should be a final result."
Resident Gosta Vou said: "This holiday maker gets a ticket and this lot in the background get nothing."
Angry residents of a sea-side town have lashed out against parking wardens

It is not the first time travellers have parked illegally in the town and not received a parking ticket.
Earlier this year a group set up an illegal camp on the Beach Lawns - but none received a penalty for doing so.
The latest convoy arrived at Locking Road car park last Sunday (27/08) but most have now left after being issued with a legal notice by the council.
North Somerset Council said it will now review the issuing of the ticket to the camper van.
Council spokesman Nick Yates said: "We would not have normally issued a ticket to a vehicle that was contravening the parking regulations at the same time as there are travellers parked on the same site.
"We will be reviewing the issuing of this ticket."

7 British artists that are bigger abroad

New post 7 British artists that are bigger abroad Monday 5th March 2018 Future  KLF  member Bill Drummond decided to call his late-70s post-punk band  Big in Japan , and that group also introduced us to  Lightning Seed  Ian Broudie and Holly Johnson, soon to be of  Frankie Goes to Hollywood . The name was a pun on what had become a music magazine cliché about Western groups hitting pay dirt in the East, and there were plenty of examples at the time, from  The Beatles , to  Queen , to the  Bay City Rollers . All those groups were, of course, huge news here too, but across the history of pop there have always been British acts that who have found greater fame elsewhere, and sometimes at the expense of being almost completely unknown in the UK... Wondering something to Eat "Bacon Explosion"

How to cook Bacon Explosion This concoction and Internet sensation came to The Times from Jason Day and Aaron Chronister, who created it shortly before Christmas one year in Roeland Park, Kan. They modestly call it “the BBQ Sausage Recipe of all Recipes.” It contains at least 5,000 calories and 500 grams of fat, but you don’t have to eat it all at once. It is not for vegetarians, ascetics or the faint of heart — instead, consider it a delicious challenge to your abilities at the grill. RECIPES FOR BACON 2   pounds thick-cut sliced bacon 1 ½   pounds Italian sausage, casings removed 3   tablespoons barbecue rub ¾   cup barbecue sauce HOW TO COOK BACON  STEP 1 Using 10 slices of bacon, weave a square lattice like that on top of a pie: first, place 5 bacon slices side by side on a large sheet of aluminum foil, parallel to one another, sides touching. Place another strip of bacon on one end, perpendicular to the other strips. Fold first, third and fifth bacon strips...
