Davido, Emmanuella Listed As Nominees For 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards


         
    The Nigerian pair of Afro-pop singer, Davido, and kid comedienne, Emmanuella have both been listed as nominees for the 2018 edition of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards slated to take place on March 24.
Commenting to the nominations which includes others African entertainers, Alex Okosi, Executive Vice President and Managing Director Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) said; “The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards offer a platform for African stars to be recognised for their excellence in their various talents including, music, sport and television by kids all over the globe.
“We are delighted to feature the continent’s highly talented nominees in the Favourite African Stars category where Black Coffee is nominated for the Favourite Global Music Star category alongside international counterparts,” he added.
Other African artists who made the list of nominees include Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) Cassper Nyovest, Caster Semenya (South Africa) and Eddy Kenzo (Uganda) in the Favourite African Star category and Black Coffee (South Africa) in the Favourite Global Music Star category.
Davido who co-owns the HKN music imprint is arguably the most active artist on the Nigerian music scene at the moment and he has racked up a number of local and international awards to his credit for his musical works.
The singer, songwriter and record producer whose 2011 single “Dami Duro” literally shot him into limelight is also Nigeria’s most followed artiste on Instagram with 6 million followers.
Emmanuella who features in comedy skits produced by Mark Angel Comedy got a wide traction when her “Not my Real Face” video skit racked up more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.
The kid comedienne who says Basket Mouth and Kelvin Hart are her role models has about 430,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel and her fan base is increasing on a daily basis.
In December 2016, her profile got more lift when her ‘Not my Real Face’ skit appeared on Obama’s first daughter, Malia’s page and had about 11 million views on her social media account.
That same year, the videos that Emmanuella featured in were also ranked among the 10 most popular videos on YouTube.

Calabar prison inmate who delivered twins last week is dead dailypost.ng The inmate of the Calabar Prison that delivered twins at the General Hospital Calabar on April 17 has died at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital due to postnatal complications. The Prison authority disclosed this in a statement by ASP Effanga Etim, Public Relations Officer of the State Prison Command on Wednesday in Calabar. He said that the mother of the twins died two days after delivery. “The Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross River command, is pained over the loss of the said inmate after a combined effort by the prison authority, the Cross River Government and medical personnel in the General Hospital, Calabar.” He said.
