How to cook Bacon Explosion

Bacon Explosion

RECIPES FOR BACON

  • 2 pounds thick-cut sliced bacon
  • 1 ½ pounds Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue rub
  • ¾ cup barbecue sauce

HOW TO COOK BACON

STEP 1

  1. Using 10 slices of bacon, weave a square lattice like that on top of a pie: first, place 5 bacon slices side by side on a large sheet of aluminum foil, parallel to one another, sides touching. Place another strip of bacon on one end, perpendicular to the other strips. Fold first, third and fifth bacon strips back over this new strip, then place another strip next to it, parallel to it. Unfold first, third and fifth strips; fold back second and fourth strips. Repeat with remaining bacon until all 10 strips are tightly woven.
  2. STEP 2
  3. Preheat oven to 225 degrees or light a fire in an outdoor smoker. Place remaining bacon in a frying pan and cook until crisp. As it cooks, sprinkle bacon weave with 1 tablespoon barbecue rub. Evenly spread sausage on top of bacon lattice, pressing to outer edges.
  4. STEP 3
  5. Crumble fried bacon into bite-size pieces. Sprinkle on top of sausage. Drizzle with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce and sprinkle with another tablespoon barbecue rub.
  6. STEP 4
  7. Very carefully separate front edge of sausage layer from bacon weave and begin rolling sausage away from you. Bacon weave should stay where it was, flat. Press sausage roll to remove any air pockets and pinch together seams and ends.
  8. STEP 5
  9. Roll sausage toward you, this time with bacon weave, until it is completely wrapped. Turn it so seam faces down. Roll should be about 2 to 3 inches thick. Sprinkle with remaining barbecue rub.
  10. STEP 6
  11. Place roll on a baking sheet in oven or in smoker. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees on a meat thermometer, about 1 hour for each inch of thickness. When done, glaze roll with more sauce. To serve, slice into 1/4-to- 1/2-inch rounds.

First Republican Congressman to Officiate a Gay Wedding Receives "No Confidence" Vote From Local GOP A Republican congressman in Virginia received a no-confidence vote from a local GOP committee after he officiated a same-sex wedding earlier this month. On July 14, Rep. Denver Riggleman, (R-VA) married two campaign volunteers, Alex Pisciarino and Anthony LeCounte, at King Family Vineyards, about 15 miles from Charlottesville. "I'm a Congressman. I represent everyone," Riggleman, 49, told  the  Washington Post  after the ceremony. "And I'll tell you this, really, love is love, if you're gonna talk about it that way. So that's what I did, and I was just so proud that I was able to do that." But it didn't sit well with pols in the 5th Congressional District Republican Committee, who tried unsuccessfully to officially reprimand Riggleman during a closed meeting on Saturday. Then, during an open session, committee member

Home made Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding

Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding Time: 30 minutes, plus at least 5 hours’ chilling For many people, the famous New York bakery Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding is even more recognizable than the shop's well-known cupcakes. This dessert is both a crowd favourite and simple to make. It is airy, creamy, and deliciously reminds of childhood boxed treats (thanks to quick vanilla pudding mix). You will have enough cookies to utilize two per layer if you make 12 smaller servings as opposed to one giant one. Make simply two layers and use three biscuits per layer if you prefer greater coverage.  INGREDIENTS Yield: 12 to 16 servings 1(14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1½cups ice-cold water 1(3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix 3cups cold heavy cream 1(11-ounce) box vanilla wafer cookies (such as Nilla) 4 to 5ripe bananas, sliced. PREPARATION Step 1 In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the condensed milk and water on low speed until blended,

The Supreme Court on Friday allowed President Donald Trump to transfer billions of dollars of military funding in order to construct hundreds of miles of wall along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona, California and New Mexico. The funding transfer was challenged by the environmental nonprofit Sierra Club and a border area advocacy group in February, shortly after Trump announced he would move forward with plans to construct the wall despite opposition from Congress. The fight over border wall funding sparked the longest federal government shutdown in history. "Quick Jambalaya" Sconty empire  This recipe makes quick work out of jambalaya by using leftover rice, and it tastes great with freshly cooked grains, too. To make this meal meatless, use vegan andouille sausage or stick with pork sausage, if you prefer. Either option, along with creole seasoning and the classic trinity of creole cooking — onion, celery and green bell pepper — result in a dish that is unmistakably Louisianan. Though many jambalaya recipes skip tomatoes, this version uses a blend of tomato paste and diced tomatoes to add bulk, and an acidity that helps lighten up the otherwise hearty one-pot meal. INGREDIENTS   2   tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1   medium yellow onion, diced 2   links pork or vegan andouille or chorizo sausage (6 ounces), cut into 1/2-inch pieces 2   celery stalks, thinly sliced 1   green bell pepper, diced 4   garlic cloves, minced 1   tablespoon tomato paste 2   cups cooked long-grain white rice 1   tablespoon creole seasoning   Salt an
